1.) Distorted Sound

ST16S is not releasing sound or sound is distorted.

Faulty Speaker

The speaker itself may be faulty and will need to be replaced. For instructions on replacing a faulty speaker, visit this guide.

2.)  Non-Responsive Joystick

The joystick response is very slow and sluggish or completely non-responsive.

Oxidation Buildup

The bases of the joysticks build up oxidation and will need to be cleaned every once in a while. You can do this by spraying the base with an Electrical Contact Cleaner and moving the joysticks around a little bit.

Faulty Joystick

The joysticks themselves may be faulty and will need to be replaced. For instructions on replacing a faulty joystick, visit this guide.

3. Weak Battery

The controller takes too long or loses charge.

Battery is not charging properly

Make sure that the USB cord is working. If not, look to get a new USB cord. If that doesn’t work try taking out the battery for about a minute and plug it back in. You may also try taking the battery out of the controller and charging it itself.

Faulty battery

If you’ve tried the options above and the battery still isn’t functioning properly, it may need to be replaced. For instructions on replacing a faulty battery, visit this guide.

4. Broken Handle

Carrying handle is cracked or broken.

Broken Handle

The handle might have been dropped causing the handle to crack or break. For instructions on how to replace the handle, visit this guide.

5. Connection Problems

The drone does not move with joystick input.

Faulty Antenna

The ST16S uses two antennas, mounted on the top of the controller, to connect to the drone. Broken or missing antennas can be easily replaced using this guide.

Broken Drone

If you believe the problem is with the drone itself and not the controller, search for a guide on the drone model you are using.

6. Overheating

ST16S overheats after use

Faulty Cooling Fan

The internal cooling fan may be broken and needs to be replaced. For instructions on replacing a faulty cooling fan, visit this guide.
