Keyboard Keys Not Responding

The Lenovo ThinkPad T495s will not respond to keyboard input.

Keys are stuck

If one key isn't depressing, there might be something below the key that is preventing keystrokes. Try removing the individual key and make sure nothing is stuck below it. You can also wipe the area under the key with a static-free towel and a dab of isopropyl alcohol before replacing the key.

Individual keys are missing

If there are individual keys that are missing from your keyboard, then replacement keys need to be bought and installed.

Keyboard is faulty

If all of the keys on your keyboard fail to respond, first exhaust all possible software troubleshooting. Then make sure the keyboard connections are secure; if all else fails, you may need to replace the entire keyboard.

Trackpad not responding

Trackpad gets stuck and will not let the user properly move/work the trackpad.

Driver is incorrectly installed or outdated

Sometimes if drivers are not installed on the system successfully, this may impact the trackpad. Go to your device manager and make sure there is no exclamation point before the driver. If there is, right click and choose "properties." Wait for the driver to be updated, and afterward your trackpad should be working again. If this does not fix your problem, then you may need to replace the trackpad with this guide.

Trackpad is uneven

If your trackpad is leaning to one side or bulging, there's a strong possibility that your battery is swelling, shifting your trackpad and disrupting its function. Pop off the laptop's baseplate and inspect the battery. If you notice any swelling, replace the battery immediately, and properly dispose the swollen battery.

Trackpad is stuck

If the trackpad is stuck in a depressed state and won't click, or is not reacting to finger pressure or no movement on the screen, try using compressed air dust cleaner to clean any dust in the crevasses for the trackpad respond normally. Faulty startup
