Troubleshooting

If problems are experienced while using the device please refer to our troubleshooting guide for assistance.

Background

The iRobot Roomba 860 is a smart, home vacuum cleaner made for consumer use. This device was released in March 2016 and features a scheduling system that allows the user to set operating times, only allowing the device to clean during convenient hours. Although the 860 does not include remote control capabilities, it does include features such as a debris extractor, lithium-ion batteries, and a carrying handle that are not found on earlier models.

Typical issues and failures that may arise while using this device include battery complications, concerns with the bump sensor not allowing the device to rotate, scheduling errors where the device no longer remembers the date, and audio notifications and feedback no longer working.

Identification

This device can be differentiated from previous models by locating the model number just in front of the left side wheel on the underside of the vacuum.
