Background and Identification

The Amazon Fire Gaming Controller was released in 2014 by Amazon.com, Inc. as an optional controller and remote for first and second generation Amazon Fire TVs. It requires two AA batteries to operate.

The controller also features media control buttons for video and music. For multiplayer gaming, indicator lights at the top of the controller indicate which player number the controller has been assigned.

There are currently two generations of the Amazon Fire Gaming Controller. The first generation does not include voice control or a microphone port at the bottom, and the buttons for "Rewind," "Play," "Pause," and "Fast-Forward" are located at the bottom center of the controller.

The controller may not be compatible with all games on the Amazon Fire TV.
