Released November 2020, the PS5 console features vastly upgraded visuals and an innovative new Dualsense controller. The space-age black-and-white color scheme is a noticeable departure from PlayStation designs of the past.

Is my device good enough?

I need to know what are the steps to do verify that the secondhanded device i'm about to buy is good enough, what kind of inspection? what to check and how?

Hi!

Are you able to do tests in person?

Anyway, start to check if the warranty seal is still on it. Just you know that somebody didn't messed something up.

The other things is, check the serial number with Sony to see if it's not banned, stolen or whatever.

Check if the shell is still OK and not have serious damage.

If the above is all OK, then it's safe to buy, I would say.

Happy to help! Perfect, in person test if it's showing something on the screen (HDMI) also check if it fully boots and if it goes to rest mode without issues and that you can wake it up. Also check to see if the warranty sticker is still on there. Also check if it does work on the network and if the PSN account can sign in (to see if it's not banned). Check if the controller is working as well! Leave it on for at least 1 hour (if possible) to see if it won't blow too much. Good luck!

@alieldeeb67024 koppie pretty much covered everything but since you're pretty much taking the face plates off anyway (the warranty sticker is under the plates) you might want to check the fan as well, see if there's too much dust or if you feel resistance when turning the fan.
