Usb A port not working

Only 3.0 of Usb A is working and 2.0 is not working

Connect a mobile phone to the non working USB port(s) and check if it shows that it is charging.

If it doesn't show that it's charging. then in the PC go to Device Manager → Universal Serial Bus Controllers → right click on a USB Root Hub entry (there may be more than one so you have to check all of them) → Properties → Power Management and check if the checkbox next to "Allow the computer to turn off power to this device" is not selected.

If it is selected, uncheck it → OK.

Do this for all USB Root Hub entries listed in the category.

Once completed, close all open windows and then restart the laptop in the normal manner and check if the USB ports now work OK once the laptop has restarted.

To get to Device Manager in Win10/Win11 press the Win key + x key (both keys together) and click on the Device manager link in the menu box that opens.
