Display cable black coating damaged
While changing the battery on my Macbook 1534, some of the black coating on the display cable was damaged. How much of an issue is this likely to be?
Is this a good question?

So to be clear the solvent removed the coating correct?
If that’s the case I would just her some paint to re-coat the cable as this is only cosmetic. You will need a paint that will stick to the surface. But again this is only needed so the orange ribbon cable is not visible via the space between the case and lid.
