Can I Restore the Old Boot Chime?

Here’s an odd question for everyone. Can I restore the old sounding boot chime on this Mac? Ever since the update in macOS Big Sur, the boot sound has changed pitch. I was wondering if there was any way to hear the old sound again…

Check out this video. You will need an SPI flash programmer and it is a pretty difficult and risky process but it can be done. Any future firmware updates will overwrite the boot chime though. To be honest, I don’t know if this applies to the 12” MacBooks since the SPI may be different due to how compact the board is but it probably is your best bet.
