Retroid Pocket Flip Joystick Not Responding or Drifting
The Retroid Pocket Flip Joystick moves or registers input by itself, even when you are not touching it. This can cause movements to be delayed, inaccurate, or not detected at all. Follow the steps below to identify possible causes of the issue.
Normal Wear Over Time
Regular use can cause joystick components to wear down over time. As this happens, the joystick may begin to drift or respond inconsistently, even when it is not being touched. This type of wear cannot be fully reversed. Reducing heavy use and avoiding unnecessary pressure on the joystick may help slow down further wear. If the issue becomes severe or affects gameplay, refer to the Retroid Pocket Flip Joystick Replacement Guide to replace the joystick.
Dust or Debris in the Joystick
Dust or small particles can collect around the base of the joystick and affect how it moves. This can cause the joystick to drift or stop responding properly. Check around the joystick for visible dust or debris and gently clean the area using a damp cloth or compressed air made for cleaning electronics.
Joystick Needs Calibration
Over time, the joystick may lose its center position, which can cause drifting or inaccurate movement. Open the device settings and calibrate the joysticks to re-center the controls and restore proper movement.
Joystick is Faulty or Damaged
If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, the joystick may be faulty or damaged and require replacement. Please refer to the Retroid Pocket Flip Joystick Replacement Guide for instructions.
