Power-On Issues

The camera will not turn on

Drained Battery

The issue could be that the battery has not been charged, the charger is not fully inserted, or could be faulty itself. Verify that the battery is properly charged. If the charger isn’t working, it would be best to find a replacement for it.

Battery is not properly installed

The battery might not be fully inserted, so make sure that the camera makes a click sound to indicate the battery is interested. If not, the battery could be faulty. Refer to our guide on how to install the battery here.

Damaged Battery

The battery could have gotten wet or filled with debris, causing the battery to die regardless of how many times it is charged. If the issues persist, the battery might need a replacement. Refer to our guide on how to install the battery here.

Damaged Motherboard

If none of the issues above apply, it could mean an issue with the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard replacement guide which can be found here.

Operating Issues

The camera is not working the way it is supposed to

LCD Malfunction

If the screen is not responsive, the system might need to be rebooted. If that fails or the problem seems worse, the screen might need to be replaced. Our guide on how to do that can be found here.

Microphone Malfunction

The microphone area may be dirty or damaged, causing the sound to not work or sound odd. Disassembly and cleaning of the camera may be needed. The guide on how to disassemble the camera can be found here.

Foggy/Damaged Camera Lens

If your lens is dirty or simply damaged, you'll notice that the quality of your pictures will be affected. Proper cleaning or even replacement of the lens may be required. A guide on how to replace the camera lens can be found here.

Structural Issues

The camera body is not the same/parts not working properly

Jammed buttons

The power and/or flash button may be jammed due to possible debris within the area, and may require disassembly in order to clean it. Our guide on how to disassemble the camera can be found here and the guide in how to remove the buttons, here.
