    • To disconnect the battery cable, use the point of a spudger to push on alternating sides of the connector to "walk" it out of its socket.

    • If that doesn't work, use a pair of tweezers to firmly grip the sides of the connector and pull straight away from the socket. Hold the tweezers closer to the connector to get a better grip.

    • If you're having trouble, try rocking the connector side-to-side to loosen it.

    • Do not pull on the wires directly.

    • Use tweezers or your fingers to gently disconnect the indicator light cable. Slide a thin, ESD-safe pry tool or angled tweezers under the metal neck of the indicator light cable connector (as close to the head as possible) and lift straight up from the board.

    • When working with these connectors, it's key to always lift the head straight up. If pried on at an odd angle, you risk breaking the socket off of the board underneath.

    • Use tweezers to hold the connector in place over its socket and gently press down with your finger or a spudger—the connector should "snap" into place. If you're having trouble, reposition the head and try again.

    • Use a spudger to break the adhesive holding the battery in place.

    • If it is strongly adhered, use adhesive remover to loosen it.

    • Be careful not to bend or crack the lithium-ion battery to avoid serious harm.

    • If the battery appears puffy or emits a strange odor, it may be swollen. Handle swollen batteries with extreme caution. Refer to the “What to Do with a Swollen Battery” article for guidance.
