Background
Ultimate Ears (UE) began in 1995 as a maker of custom in-ear monitors for touring musicians. Logitech acquired Ultimate Ears in 2008 and subsequently used the Logitech UE name for a broader range of consumer audio products.
In 2012, Logitech introduced the Logitech UE Boombox and Mobile Boombox portable Bluetooth speakers. The cylindrical UE Boom followed in 2013, establishing design features used throughout many later UE speaker families, including fabric-covered enclosures, oversized volume buttons, and 360-degree sound.

Identification
Find the speaker's printed product-information label before selecting a repair guide or ordering parts. Depending on the model, the label is located on the bottom of the speaker or beneath the weather door covering the charging port. The label may include:
- M/N: Model number
- P/N: Part number
- S/N: Serial number
Use the model number, rather than the speaker's color, to confirm its identity. Speakers from different generations may have similar shapes and were sold in numerous colors and patterns.
Common family characteristics include:
- Logitech UE Boombox: A wide speaker with an integrated curved aluminum carrying handle.
- Mobile Boombox and UE Mini Boom: Small, rectangular speakers with a front grille.
- Boom and Megaboom: Tall, cylindrical speakers with oversized "+" and "−" volume controls. Megaboom models are larger than the corresponding Boom models.
- Wonderboom: Short, rounded speakers with a fabric exterior and a hanging loop.
- Roll: Flat, disc-shaped speakers with an elastic attachment cord.
- Blast and Megablast: Cylindrical Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speakers with microphones for Amazon Alexa voice control.
- Hyperboom: A substantially larger, rectangular speaker rather than a cylindrical portable model.
After identifying the family, compare the printed model number with the individual device pages listed above. Generations within the Boom, Megaboom, and Wonderboom families can look similar from the outside.
