Fuel Injector Lines

These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.

2.8L L28E I4: A SOHC, 12-valve inline-six featuring a cast-iron block and an aluminum alloy head (typically the "N42" or "N47" castings).
Fuel Injection: The Bosch L-Jetronic system was the first mass-produced electronic fuel injection for the Z-car, utilizing an Air Flow Meter (AFM) with a mechanical flap to measure intake volume.
Output: Produced 170 hp @ 5,600 rpm and 163 lb-ft @ 4,400 rpm, providing a significant torque advantage over the earlier 240Z and 260Z models.
Cooling: Features a high-capacity radiator and, on models equipped with factory A/C, a more robust five-blade cooling fan to manage the thermal loads of the L28 block.

Transmission: Available with a 4-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic; in 1977, a 5-speed manual (the FS5W71B) was introduced, significantly improving highway fuel economy and reducing engine drone.
