1 HK Onyx Studio 5 - Power Issue
I have had this speaker for several years and have always preferred the depth of sound under AC power. So for most of its life it has not operated on the battery.
There was a period of time, 5-6 months where the speaker remained unplugged completely.
Now when I plug it in, the light is red indicating that is receiving power. When I press the power button, the light goes to white and gives the power up sound only briefly before giving the dead sound and powering back off. One full instance is maybe 7-10 seconds.
I am thinking the battery is either asleep or dead. I would like some input before committing to purchasing the replacement and doing the work.

Hi,
If the device was unplugged for 5-6 months, the likelihood is that the battery is drained beyond its rechargable state and needs to be replaced.
You can check it, if you open up the device and measure the battery terminals and see if the battery is way below its nominal voltage.
On the other hand, it should still run whilst plugged in but you may need to disconnect the battery to overcome this issue that you are having.
