Repair information for the HP 2000 laptop series.

HP 2000 Series boot menu fails to detect bootable USB

I am trying to install an operating system via USB on an HP 2000 laptop, but the boot menu (F9) shows nothing. I have tried:

1. Using different USB ports (including USB 2.0 ports).

2. Recreating the bootable USB.

3. Enabling Legacy Support/CSM and disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS (F10).

4. Using MBR partition schemes.

Despite all this, the flash drive is never detected by the system. Are there any specific BIOS settings or known workarounds to get an HP 2000 to recognize a bootable USB?

Hello, keep secure boot disabled, and see if you can find an option "Boot from USB", since you are able to recreate the bootable flash this means you have another computer, can you try this bootable usb on that computer?

@davidheck50726 do you have a usb mouse, if so plug it on this laptop and see if the laser underneath is turned on, just to be sure there's power in the usb port.

Can you remove the hdd or ssd inside the laptop, put it in another PC and install the os from there then put it back, I did this once years ago but I don't forget why :) but it worked.
