Make monitor out of tv screen

I have a Curtis LED1337A that doesn't work and I want to use its screen to make a PC monitor from scratch. Could I just plug it in to a monitor motherboard and grab the other monitor components to make one?

Edit: This is my screen model if that helps

@prowerpatroller nope, it's not that easy. You will need a driver board for your screen, as well as the main board and of course the power supply. Most of this will depend on what panel your Curtis TV is using and what has failed on it. Let us know what the symptoms on your TV are. It'll help if we know what does or does it not do.

Yes, it can be done. If your TV's main board, buffer boards and screen are still okay, you can just use the HDMI connections to connect it to your computer. If you do not have a working mainboard in your TV, you will need to substitute that for a driver board which is specific for the panel. For that we would need to know the exact panel model. Once you take your TV apart, there should be a sticker on the panel telling you the maker and the model. We would need to know what number to see if driver boards are available.

In general those are fun projects and can definitely help to keep your old TV out of the landfill. Let's work on it :-) Post some pictures of your boards with your question once you have the back cover removed. Adding images to an existing question

@prowerpatroller perfect. We now know that your panel is a CLAA133WA01 and all you would need is a kit like this one This is an example only and not an endorsement for the seller. To install it etc. it'll be very similar to the one shown here Universal LCD driver Technique - iFixit Repair Guide

Thank you so much! By chance, do you happen to know a casing that would fit said screen and driver board?
