Equinox navigation not working after map update

Hello.   In my 2019 Equinox, I recently replaced the GPS/MAP SD card with an updated version from a non-dealer vendor.  Everything works except the search function.  It alsys says not found.  This happens even if I select the gas station search button.

I did note that the entertainment/nav software has not been updated since 2018.   Could this be the reason for the search issue?   I connected car to my phone hotspot and tried to update entertainment/nav software, but I get message that no updates available after waiting about a minute.  Thanks!

Does it go back to working if you put the original map SD back in?

Hello Jerry. Yes it works with original SD. Also, this is the second SD I have tried, so I do not think the SD is defective.

Well, at this point the only reasonable conclusion is the software provided by the non-dealer vendor. You should try contacting them to see if this is a known issue and if they have a fix for it.

Otherwise, you might be able to compare files between the original and the updated SD cards and see if there's some combination that gives you an updated map but still gives you full functionality. Obviously I have no idea what's on those cards, but that's where I'd start if the vendor can't help.
