Hi Karen,
This page shows how to replace the outer tie rod end on your car.
This page tells you what to look for to determine if your tie rod end needs replacing.
Most of the time you can tell without a dial indicator; just follow that procedure and have someone rock the tire while you watch the tie rod end. If there's any movement whatsoever in the end itself, replace it.
