Why is my kettle not functioning when plugged in
It has no smell to show any damage

@onesmusmutugi first, you will need to check if you get power to the base. If you do the next check would be if the kettle connects properly to the base. Double check the contacts. If it does, then you need to check the heating element and see if it gets power and check for damage to the coil as well as lose wiring etc. You can check the coil with a multimeter. A functional coil will generally display a specific resistance value (i.e. 10 to 30 Ω for a dryer, 12 to 25 Ω for a water heater, or 30 to 40 Ω for an oven). If your multimeter shows OL (Open Loop) or 1 (depends on your meter), the internal wire is broken and the element must be replaced. If it reads 0.0, the element is short-circuited.
