Why my laptop screen is flickering?

Try connecting an external monitor (TV) to the laptop's HDMI port and check if the display from the laptop shown on the monitor is flickering as well.

Don't forget to press the applicable function key to switch the display from the laptop screen to the external monitor.

If there's no flickering on the external monitor, switch the display back to the laptop screen and then when the flickering occurs very slowly move the laptop's lid back and forth to see if you can make the flickering stop or even make it worse.

If you can then it may be a loose EDP (video) cable connection (either end motherboard or LCD panel) or a faulty video cable between the motherboard and the LCD panel in the lid, damaged where it passes through the hinge perhaps.

If moving the lid doesn't affect the flickering at all then it may be a faulty LCD panel

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.47 (53 of 68 pdf) and p.52 (58 of 68 pdf) to view the procedure to remove the LCD module and the EDP cable respectively.

If the EDP cable is faulty, search online for 5C10S30933 to find suppliers that suit you best.

If the LCD panel is faulty, according to the parts list for the laptop, there are 4 LCD panels that are compatible with the laptop model. 3 LCD panels are interchangeable with each other i.e. Lenovo p/n 5D11M63772, 5D11M63773 & 5D11M63778 but for some reason the 4th LCD panel i.e. p/n 5D11R88574 isn't. I don't know why.

Usually the LCD panel part number can be found somewhere on the back of the LCD panel if you wish to verify which particular one you have before ordering one. Search for the part number to find suppliers that suit you best.
