Hi @wpmf1bxfrqsead

Check if the HDD (hard disk drive) is shown as being detected in BIOS.

To get into BIOS start the laptop and press the Esc key while the Press the ESC key for Startup Menu message is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Then press F10 to enter Computer Setup.

Not totally sure but I think that the HDD model/type information is located in the Security → Hard drive Utilities menu.

If the HDD model/type information is not there (or anywhere else in BIOS) then either the HDD has become disconnected from the motherboard or it has failed.

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.45 to view the procedure to remove/replace the HDD.

If you have to replace it, you may as well replace the HDD with a 2.5" sata SSD for a performance boost.

If the HDD model/type information is there then it could be that the boot partition on the HDD is corrupted therefore it won't be found by BIOS to boot from.

If Win10 was installed you can resolve the problem of a faulty boot partition by inserting a Windows Recovery USB flashdrive (16GB for Win10) and boot into the Windows Recovery Environment menus. Don't forget to make the USB as the 1st boot option. Either change it in BIOS or press Esc → F9 to change the boot priority order from HDD 1st boot option to USB 1st boot .

You can create a recovery drive from any known working Windows 10 PC. In the host PC go to Control panel > Recovery > Create a recovery disc and follow the prompts. It takes about 1-2 hours to create the recovery drive depending on the host PC specifications

When in the WRE menu select Troubleshoot > Advanced> Startup repair and follow the prompts

You could also try running a chdsk command using it to see if the HDD is OK or not.

In the recovery menus select Troubleshoot > Advanced> Command Prompt.

When in the command window type chkdsk C: /f (assuming the C: is the drive letter of the HDD) and check the results
