Repair guides and disassembly information for the MacBook Pro 16'' released in November of 2019. Model A2141, EMC 3347.

Leftmost 512 pixels not displaying

I got this machine cheapish as the original display was smashed. The full image could be seen though. I had a spare here and it works fine except the leftmost 512 pixels which is very telling. That’s exactly 1/6 of the panel. There’s no physical damage to the display but I have noticed the lugs holding the metal covers over the ribbons down on the tcon have failed only on the innermost lugs. I suspect it’s been badly flexed at some point. My question is, could there be a tcon issue here? It feels more like that than a damaged lcd or flex gate. Never seen a flex gate lcd like this.

Answer this question I have this problem too

The LCD panels ribbon cables is likely the issue, either they are damaged or the connection to the connection to the T-CON board. Does it look like someone tried popping off the LCD panel? Can you post some pics of the areas suspected of damage?
