On p.135 of the service manual for the laptop it shows that a 2:8 blink code is an indication of a Display failure - EC detection of power rail failure.
This could be due to a problem on the motherboard relating to the power supply (+LCDVDD) for the LCD panel.
Here are the schematics for the motherboard, that will help.
Go to p.38 (of 108 pdf) to view the LCDVDD power supply circuit.
The power is supplied to pins 30 & 31 of the EDP cable connector on the motherboard - also shown on p.38 left side of page as +LCDVDD
Hopefully a start to finding out what's wrong.
