Why game sound came late

The original Airpods are using an old Bluetooth version (4.2). Bluetooth in general does have a large delay from when audio is played by media until the audio is received and played by the earphones.

If you are using newer Airpods than the first generation, the audio delay with the Bluetooth protocol will often remain pronounced. If you have a companion app for the Airpods, you can look in the settings for "low latency mode", sometimes called "gaming mode" or "ultra‑low latency audio". This setting may not appear depending on your Airpods model.

Even if you have newer Airpods that support a higher version of Bluetooth, you need to also ensure your playback device is supporting up to the same Bluetooth version to get the advantages of all the newer Bluetooth version's features.
