There could be some dust or other debris built up in the speaker assembly, thus preventing it from functioning properly. I'm honestly not sure what you mean by "not functioning well", but if it's still working to some extent, this could be the problem. If it's possible, please add some more information. It would really help me (and everyone else on the forum, for that matter) to give a more definitive answer.
