A Slew of Problems (CP2025)

We were purging my school and I took a HP Color LaserJet CP2025, as it was going to be thrown away. I'd like to try to get it back up and working but I'm encountering a handful of problems:

  • Doesn't print in color, despite recognizing the new (3rd Party) toner in it. It can tell how much toner is in each. The printer's built Demo Sheet prints in black and white.
  • Trouble printing in general, replaced the two "rolls" in Tray 1. Doesn't 'take' the paper from Tray 2 as well.
  • Encounters a 59.C0 error message, fails Color Calibration sometimes. I believe that the solenoid moves freely.

Here's a video of it trying to print: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lzqZC8-NE...

Answer this question I have this problem too

@thebinder the first point will require you to replace the toner and possibly clean the print head. Point number 2 could be related to the rollers for tray 2 as well as the solenoids or even the motor. Those would however give you an error code. I'd replace the pickup rollers as well.

Error codes that look like 59.X are related to issues with one of the motors. For the 59.C0 you are most likely looking at a "Developer Motor Rotation Error" or a stuck transfer belt.

Use the HP CLJ CP2020 2025 SM and the HP Color LaserJet CP2025 Parts Diagramto work through those individual issues.
