Hi @phileniabrooks

Have you tried replacing the blade with a new one. It may be that the teeth have worn down at an uneven rate causing the cut to go offline?

There's a few things it could be.

  • First, as mentioned by @jayeff, the blade may have dull teeth causing it to catch and wander.
  • Second, it could be a loose or misaligned baseplate or shoe causing the cut to happen at a slightly off or wobbling angle.
  • Third, it could be the blade itself being a thin-kerf causing it to flex during the cut and wander.
  • Fourth, it could be technique in 2 ways either by cutting too deeply into the material or if the blade extends too far out the other side, or by forcing the blade forward too aggressively instead of letting it do the work (which also could indicate a dull blade).
  • Finally, it could be worn bearings in the saw itself depending on the age and how used it is. As bearings age and wear down they can cause a lot of motion and wobble in ways you don't want.

Hopefully that gives you some directions to find and solve your problem.
