I was wondering the possibility of replacing the 4GB flash drive with either another 4GB drive, or maybe even a 16GB drive? If not, could we at least get a Teardown so that we can better understand the device?

The nand flash memory used in the device is not easily replaced.
It is hard mounted on the systemboard and most likely would require micro soldering to remove and replace the chip. If you could find a greater capacity, compatible memory chip that is.
