@sherazjutt does that mean that neither slow nor fast charging is working? Or does it mean that slow charging is working but not fast charging.?

@lxsamii what does that mean? How is that related to the overvoltage message?

@mohamedhaf13408 this error message means the phone believes the charger is sending too much power, or there is a short circuit creating a false reading. The most common cause of this error is a faulty power supply or a damaged USB-C cable that is failing to regulate voltage properly. Try a high-quality charger and a different cable. If the error disappears, your old charger is broken and needs to be discarded.

Next check your charging port. Debris, pocket lint, or microscopic dirt inside the USB-C port can bridge the pins. This creates a short circuit that can cause the battery management system into reporting that the voltage is spiking. Clean the charging port using a clean, dry toothbrush and a few puffs of canned air.

The only other thing you can try is a hard reset. Just remember you will lose all of your files from your phone 9pictures, SMS, Music, contacts etc.) and you will need to have teh email and password that was used when you first setup your phone. If you do nto have that, don't do a hard reset. Here is how you do that.

If none of that works the issue is definitely hardware related. The Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) IC chip on the motherboard, the charging sub-board, or the battery itself may have failed. You can replace the charging Sub-board an teh battery and see if that resolves the issue. If not, you know it is a circuit board issue. That will require you to have the schematic, the proper tools and skills to perform a board level repair.

Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this, use something like this videoto remove the battery and the charging board.

While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same issues with their device. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
