Check if it has been disabled first. Fn + F6 toggles the trackpad on most ThinkPad 11e units. Tap it and try again.

If that does nothing, go to Device Manager, Mice and other pointing devices. A yellow exclamation mark means a driver problem. Download the Synaptics or ELAN trackpad driver for your exact model from Lenovo's support site using your serial number, and reinstall it.

Next, try a BIOS reset. Shut down, boot into BIOS with F1 at startup, load defaults, save and exit. This rules out any BIOS level setting that might be disabling the device.

Plug in an external USB mouse. If that works fine, your problem is isolated to the trackpad hardware or its ribbon cable connection, not Windows.
