What is this connector for?

Following fixit's guide for a battery replacement on my 44mm SE 2 watch worked, mostly. The guide warns about the right side of the watch around the stem to be very careful because of the connectors. Well on my 44mm watch those connectors are on the bottom. I cut through the bottom left connector; what is its function? The watch still had residual power and would show the time (bottom right) and I could not fully discharge the battery. It was off for 2 weeks before I started to work on it.

OK, I wanted to upload a pic of the connector but I can't figure out the process here.

Like I mentioned above it's the lower left connector that has a screw holding it down. I think it is a ground point but am not positive. Thanks in advance to anyone who can identify this for me.
