Digitizer cracked and screen is black.

Phone was dropped (while closed) and when opened there was an audible snap sound in the hinge. Now the screen is black. I know the digitizer is broke and the cost to fix it. I just went and got a new phone but I want to get the pictures and other stuff from it. How can I do that without being able to use the screen? I've tried hooking it up to a computer but I need the touch screen to transfer.
