Phone stopped charging after battery replacement

Got an interesting issue with my iphone 7

I was simply replacing the battery on it, but eventually it won’t charge. There is certainly no issue with the cable (cause I’ve tried many) or the battery.

What’s interesting though is that when it is turned off and plugged in it turns itself on, like it should, but does not charge. It is also not recognized by the computer.

I have tried to connect the old battery, but it acts in the same way.

One thing that I’m afraid might have cause the problem: when connecting the display I accidentally plugged the battery before the display connector, realized my mistake, unplugged it, plugged the display and then the battery. Turned the phone on. Everything is working except it does not charge when plugged it in.

Will be grateful for any advice or information about the issue!

Michael

Since it powers on but doesn’t charge or get detected by a computer, this points more to a charging circuit or board-level issue, not the battery or cable.

The order you connected things could have caused a short or stress on the charging/USB line, but it’s not guaranteed.

I’d suggest checking the panic logs and running them through an online panic log analysis tool. If there’s a power or USB-related fault, it often shows up there and can help confirm whether it’s the charging IC or another board component.
