@abebetazeba, double-check your motherboard. IT is possible that you are not getting any power to the keyboard backlight circuit. For a deep dive on that, it will be printed on your motherboard. Common board number would be a 6050A3217501-MB-A01

Hi!

The backlit keyboard was optional.

Are you sure that your keyboard support it?

Before you order a new keyboard, please check if the motherboard does have the connector on it. most of the time it’s already on there, but please check first.

Be aware: they are not cheap as the keyboard is fused with the top cover. So you will replace them both.

IF your keyboard did support it, but it’s simply just broken, it’s most Of the time related to the backlit cable. This one is fused with the keyboard, so you need to replace it, to get it working again.

Little side note: The HP Elitebook 840 G7 keyboard is compatible as well. The process is nearly the same.
