No display or power led

Hey, I’m kinda stuck on a PSP-1000. Battery and charger are good (checked with a basic voltage tester), but the thing just won’t turn on. No power LED, no screen, no sound.

I’ve already tried:

  • Different batteries
  • A new charging port
  • A new button board
  • Reseating the grey ribbon cable

Power is getting through (even to the LED board), but the LEDs never light up. Hold switch moves fine. Same result every time.

Before I drop like $50 on a replacement motherboard, does anyone know any common PSP-1000 issues that cause this? Bad ribbon cable? Blown component? Something dumb I’m overlooking?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi!

It could be the power board or the ribbon cable that connects from it to the motherboard.

I would replace those first and test.

If both didn’t worked, then you do need to replace the motherboard…

Since it does charge, I will try that first.

If you need guides, please let me know!
