Hi!

1) Leave the tablet to charge, and the try turning it on

  • Please ensure that the tablet charger works (e.g. with another device), then leave the tablet to charge for a few hours.
  • After the tablet has been charged for a few hours, try to turn on the tablet while the tablet is plugged in to the charger.
  • Please note if the tablet is getting rather hot or any other senses.

2) Replace battery

  • If step 1 does not work and the charger is functioning properly, then it is quite likely that the battery has aged and gone bad. It is quite common for batteries to age over prolonged usage.
  • Note: We cannot guarantee that the battery is what is faulty. Still, it is reasonable to guess that the battery is faulty as this is a common occurrence and outcome for older devices.
  • To replace the battery, you can use this Youtube Guide. (Props to user Jerry Wheeler for finding the links, see this QnA for their answer to a similar question)
    • The tools you'd need for this repair is a plastic spudger / prying tool and a small screwdriver.
    • You will also need a battery, iFixit does have a battery for this model, or you could look for a local dealer, Amazon or the like.

Good luck, and happy fixing,

Cheers
