Portable Bluetooth speaker by Amazon. Released March 2016. Model PW3840KL.

What is the speaker part exactly called?

So this speaker fell from a high place and now its sound is very distorted. I went to a repair shop and he told me that the main speaker part through which the audio is played is burned and that part is not available anywhere.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@aayushsolanke you are not telling us which part you want to replace.

Hi, it is still a bit of guess work with your updated answer. I've included a picture bellow of the speaker torn down to individual parts (graciously done by iFixit).

Based on your description I guess you would either mean the speakers (red circles) which produces the sound, which standalone is often referred to as speaker elements or just elements. Or I'd guess you mean one of the circuit boards (the orange circle and rectangle), sometimes referred to as motherboard, or pcb.

If neither of above is describing what you're looking for, please let us know. You can also check out iFixit's teardown of the speaker where they mention the names of many of the components, here is a link to their teardown Amazon Tap Teardown.

If you further wish for a guide to take apart your speaker for repairs, I'd recommend to use the same teardown as a guide, or this separate guide Amazon Tap Battery Replacement.

Good luck,

Cheers

Hi @meekvixen,

Looking at a zoomed in image of the speakers (aka drivers) in Step.10 of the teardown guide, the round one is a Tymphany speaker p/n PMT 40N25AL05-04.

The information is found on the sticker on the back of the speaker coil. I couldn't find anything using the information on the back of the rectangular speaker.

Unfortunately searching online using the part numbers for either speaker produces no results.

The only one I found was a PMT-40N25AL01-04 but whether it has the same specifications, both physical and electrical I don't know.

Cheers

A fall from a high place will break something. However, "main speaker part through which the audio is played is burned" does not make sense. Speakers are pretty rugged. A fall wouldn't break one enclosed in a case let alone "burn" it. It is possible it was dislodge (mounting mechanism broke) and possibly damaged the cone, but it didn't burn. Since there are many other components, something else may be broken also. Since the speakers are plugin it would be easy to test them. Whether a suitable replacement is available is another issue. Sometimes, the way the speaker sounds is a good indication of what might be wrong. The burned diagnosis might just be "it will take too long to fix and you can get another one for less than I would charge". The only parts that might be available are the speakers and the battery. If it is doing anything, the battery isn't the problem. If something on the PCB broke, other than capacitor, that is likely not repairable or replaceable. Bottom line, if you can disassemble it and test the speakers and one is bad, and you can find a replacement, then the cost should be reasonable.
