It doesn't matter, the principle is to insert the screws in an X shape, so that the surface is tight.
I see that this is a computer with a GPU (graphics processor), it is worth using a paste with high conductivity, otherwise, it will do more harm than good. Often the GTU needs a thermal pad, even there you need to know what to choose (thickness, conductivity, etc.).
