The fridge is too cold so the liquid in cans expand then explode

Sounds like you need to adjust the temperature setting a bit higher. If you're already at a reasonable temperature, you might consider placing the soda cans in a different place; if they're sitting directly in the airflow of the cold air coming into the refrigeration compartment, then they could be getting too cold so moving them away from the vent should help.
