First try to separate whether this is a TV sound setting issue or a remote/button issue.

1. Open Settings > Sound and check Sound Output. Make sure it is set to TV Speaker if you are not using a soundbar, Bluetooth speaker, or receiver. If it is set to Optical/HDMI/Bluetooth, the TV speakers can seem very quiet or disabled.

2. In the Sound menu, turn off any Night Mode, Auto Volume, Volume Leveling, Adaptive Sound, or similar mode, then test again.

3. Use Reset Sound / Reset Audio Settings if your Samsung model has that option. This will not normally erase channels or apps, but it returns the audio settings to default.

4. Test more than one source: live TV, HDMI, YouTube/Netflix, etc. If only one app or HDMI device is quiet, check that device/app audio level and its audio format setting.

5. Power-cycle the TV: unplug it from the wall for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and test before changing more settings.

6. Check the remote and the TV's physical buttons. A stuck volume-down/mute button, weak remote batteries, or a jammed side button on the TV can keep fighting your volume-up command. Remove the remote batteries for a minute and try the TV buttons if available.

7. If physical volume buttons are unreliable, Samsung SmartThings can be used as a temporary same-Wi-Fi remote/control test, but it will only help if the TV is already on the network and responding.

If the TV speaker is selected, sound reset is done, and every source is still very low, the problem may be in the TV speaker/amplifier board or main board audio output, so the exact Samsung model number would help narrow the next repair step.
