No control detection only wile gaming
The console only detects the controls on the menu, if you play something, it doesn't detect the controls.
Can't find the actual problem, pls help

Have you tried both controller ports? I would hook up 2 controllers and test to see if anything works. If not, it might be the game. If it does, it might be the controller.

I tried other games and using other control, wasn't that, and now it doesn't read games
Does this happen with both PS1 and PS2 games? When did this start? Also please check the CMOS battery. Also try another controller if possible. Thanks!

I don't have ps1 games, is not the battery because is new, and I tried another controller, didn't work either

Then you most likely want to solder new ones in. This is difficult.. and hard to find. So I would get a broken motherboard (with a different defect) and get it from there.
Regarding “it won’t read games”, you most likely want to replace the laser. But,, it could also be other things causing it. Laser is known to fail these days, so would replace that one first and see how it goes!
