@zom yes you can, but you really shouldn't. The best way to charge the battery will be with your AC adapter while it is installed in your computer.

For educational purpose only.

Unless of course you have a good desktop power supply where you can control the rate of charge. Remember that your battery "speaks" to the laptop and "tells" it what the charge is and how much more power, if any, it needs to be fully charged. If you use any kind of different charger, you do not have that failsafe.

You never want to overcharge your battery since that can lead to disaster.

The battery for the laptop you have listed is a 15.4V 58.76Wh. First you need to find the Amperage to start with

Ah=Wh/V

Ah=58.76/15.4 ~ 3.81Ah

The charge rate for your battery is listed a 0.5C = 1/2 of 3.81Ah. That means you are looking at about 1.9Amps. For a totally discharged battery you would need to apply ~1.9A for 2 hours. Don't do that since you do not know if it is totally discharge. Stick with no more than 1hr.

Positive are the red wires and the Black wires are the negative connections.

Remember the risks on this. NEVER CHARGE IT LIKE THAT WITHOUT YOU BEING PRESENT TO OBSERVE THE BATTERY. Watch for heat etc.

Charging a laptop battery outside the device is generally not recommended unless you have a dedicated external charger made for that exact battery model. Modern batteries have built-in protection circuits that require proper communication with the laptop. Using random methods or DIY wiring can damage the battery, cause overheating, or even pose a fire risk.

If your battery is removable, look for an official or compatible external charger specifically designed for it. Otherwise, the safest option is to charge it inside the laptop or replace it if it no longer holds charge.
