iPhone will not restore after failed update

I attempted to complete the latest update for my device, using the Apple Devices app on my Windows 10 computer. During the update an error was thrown and the process eventually failed, but the software had already been removed from the phone. I selected the update option within Apple Devices, but each time produced an error. I then attempted to factory restore the device, but that also ended with the error: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (53). 0634.0035

Each time that I've tried to complete the restore, the progress bar builds to about 50% on the phone screen, but will not make it further before throwing the error mentioned.

Here are the additional steps I've taken to troubleshoot the issue: Used several different USB cables, deactivated all Windows security (firewall, antivirus, etc), tried another Windows 10 computer, tried 2 different Windows 11 computers, ensured that all updates on each computer used were completed and finally attempted to put the phone into DFU mode.

I've only been able to get the computer to recognize the phone in the Apple Devices app. iTunes will not recognize the phone at all as I've gone through troubleshooting. I've even downloaded an older version of iTunes, but still not seeing the phone. Help, please!

Error 53 usually points to a hardware-related issue, often tied to the Touch ID sensor or internal components after a failed update. First, try a clean DFU restore using Apple Devices or the latest iTunes on a different USB port/cable. Make sure you’re using the latest IPSW firmware and avoid interruptions. If it still stops at 50%, it’s likely not software anymore. Error 53 was historically linked to security checks on hardware pairing, especially after repairs. In that case, the only reliable fix is visiting an authorized Apple service center for hardware inspection or replacement.
