How to fix black screen of death?

Whenever I try to power on my 2DS XL, the solid blue LED light comes on, but the screen stays black. I’ve had this issue in the past, but it always seemed to resolve itself when I powered it on and off again multiple times in a row. Now, that’s not working this time. My partner told me maybe it’s a problem with the capacitors?

Does your blue led stay on until you turn it off, and is your console modded with Luma3DS? If so, can you get into the Luma3DS configuration menu by turning on the console while holding the Select button?

Hi!

Could be a lot of things. Which screen is failing? Both of them? If yes, then you might want to check the motherboard.

Also, make sure that the SD card is removed.

Please also try to enter safe mode and see what happens: Using the 3DS's Safe Mode
