I wouldn't suggest resetting the airbag light unless you've actually fixed whatever problem caused it to turn on in the first place. Did you determine what turned it on, and if so what was it?
With regard to the key fob, has it ever worked? Is this a fob that came with the Explorer or one you bought? You replaced the battery first thing, right?
