No display - coloured lines on touchscreen

Hi,

Very much fault of my own, but my 3ds fell a few months back and ever since the display has not been working, whenever I turn it on there is only lines on the touchscreen. I did attempt to poke around a little but didn't do much as I was worried about making it worse. I've had it shelved since.

I understand there may be an issue with the screen itself, or a loose ribbon cable, but I would very much appreciate if anyone could provide some advice on which specific cables may be the issue so I don't do any unnecessary tampering.

Hi!

Please check the lower screen first, this one is most likely the one that is broken!

You can follow this guide: Nintendo 3DS XL Touchscreen Replacement (step 23 is the final step).

If the cable is all good, please replace the screen and test.

Hi again :)

Good news! I replaced the touchscreen and it's working perfectly with no issue at all

However now the top screen isn't working, it's visibly backlit but there's no display

Ahh.. I would replace that one too and see what happens. Is it possible to do so? Thanks!
