Screen Replacement for Clara BW N365B

My Kobo Clara BW N365B was recently damaged by being carried in my back with a few other books, and it must have gotten squished between them, and now the screen is totally shot so I'd like to replace it. It appears as though the screen being sold through iFixIt is for the N365 model specifically.

I'm attempting to determine if the screen is in any way compatible with the N365B model. It seems as though it's not, but I was hoping for a definitive answer. If not, any guidance on where I may be able to source one would be greatly appreciated, as Kobo Support was not of any assistance.

Hi Jayeff, thanks for your comment. I went ahead and ordered, then subsequently replaced the screen after seeing this. However, I'm now having some severe ghosting issues with the screen. I followed the guide to update the VCOM number, which actually seemed to make it worse. The screen I received from iFixIt has the VCOM number -2.95, compared to the previous screen's -2.84. I multiplied the value by 1000x when creating the text document.

I assume that screens can vary slightly so the screen would need to be matched to the control board for it to function correctly, hence calibration

Just checking, did the new screen have a QR code on the sticker and if so did the VCOM number shown when scanning it match what is shown on the sticker?

You might try altering the VCOM value and check if it makes it any better. Perhaps try a lower value nearer to what the other one was e.g. -2.90.

Reading the calibration document if the reader is not kept on for too long a period hopefully no damage will occur to the screen. If it's as bad as you say, you will know soon enough.

You could always go the other route and return the screen to ifixit as faulty and get another screen from them.
