Hi!
First of all, which Xbox controller are you using? Xbox One controller, or the Series S/X?
I advise to replace the joystick completely.
Here is the guide for the Xbox One Series S/X controller: Xbox Series X/S Wireless Controller Joystick Replacement (the process is almost the same).
Be aware: you need to solder and this is not easy. If you don't have any soldering experience, I would bring it to a local repair shop.
