@cyruschampion make sure it was not disabled through the Fn+F4 keys. Next double check your software and driver files, I would definitely reinstall the driver to make sure it is the latest version. Ultimately, it does sound like the issues is with the touchpad itself. Time to open up your computer and to take a look at it. Since there are no specific guides for this yet on iFixit, use something like this video to work on your laptop. It will get you into your computer and definitely close to the touchpad. I just double checked and these instructions Fujitsu Lifebook E733 Disassembly work for the E753 as well

Check the shortcut key Press Fn + F4 to toggle the touchpad back on.
The driver might be outdated or corrupted. Since it works intermittently, uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad driver from Device Manager might fix it.Connect a USB mouse, go to 'Device Manager,' find your touchpad, and try disabling and then re-enabling it. You can also try updating the driver from there.
If those don't work, the issue might be internal hardware, such as a loose ribbon cable or other. I strongly advise you NOT to open the laptop yourself unless you are experienced. Please take it to a professional technician to avoid further damage."
