Pixel 7a SIM card stopped working

I have a Pixel 7a, which was working great. One day, my eSIM was not detected anymore. Trying to figure what happened (did some troubleshooting, reboots), the standard SIM also stopped getting detected.

Note that everything else works perfectly on the phone. I've tried already:

  • Testing the SIM on another device -> Worked fine
  • Testing a second SIM on pixel device -> Also not working
  • Clean SIM
  • Reset Network settings

Does it display "no service" or "emergency calls only?"

No service would be indicative of a modem issue.

Emergency calls only would be inconclusive.

Options

Your troubleshooting already confirms SIM is fine

If IMEI/Baseband is missing → definite hardware issue

Try software reinstall once

If still not fixed → service center is the only real solution
